Videography and Photography of "Outside the Box" event in Doha, Qatar.
By fully engaging with my clients at the design stage I ensure that I meet their expectations whilst creatively producing photography that compliments their brand values. I also take care to meet my clients priorities, such as technical considerations that often include requirements for image libraries, which in turn makes it easier to sell products online. A collection of photographs celebrating the natural and built environment.
Utilising a range of image capture techniques I strive to create imagery that represents the spaces as naturally as possible while often adding movement to bring the buildings to life.
An Editorial shoot at Ginetta Cars in Leeds for a Themis publication
I have photographed a series of Vintage Events curated by Hemingway Design since 2013 including London's Southbank, Liverpool, Morecambe and Glasgow.
The passion and energy of the Northern Soul scene continues to grow with a youthful revival, especially in the North West. Some of the people within this body of work had roles in the film 'Northern Soul' by Elaine Constantine, who proudly hangs one of these photographs in her house. Part of this shoot was produced in the dressing rooms at King Georges Hall, Blackburn which also had a role to play in the film. The action shots were captured at Manchester's Victoria Baths during an 'All Nighter'.
Manchester International Festival
I was commissioned to photograph a range of VIP events throughout Manchester International Festival 2015. My personal festival highlights included seeing the Tree of Codes and FlexN opening nights and photographing Jamie XX and Damon Albarn.
Blackburn has a large diverse population with 31% of the 150,000 residents with a BAME (Black, Asian and Ethnic minority) heritage. Lifeblood is a collection of portraits celebrating the individuals who are integral to the local community. To view the website go to: www.lifebloodblackburn.com
Places at Rest
A photographic collection of urban landscapes built for the masses, captured at night in a state of rest, devoid of life and separated from their intended function. At the point of capture, the diverse light sources, muted sounds and vulnerability all contribute to the photographs aesthetic values. The result enhances a sense of unease that the viewer may experience when in these spaces. The photographs were printed on back-lit Duratrans and displayed in a purpose built black room with no ambient light encouraging the viewer to feel displaced and engage further with the imagery.
I was commissioned earlier this year by WARL Advertising to photograph as series of portraits for an NHS campaign that has now started to go live. We produced a range of photographs on location with local health care providers. The portraits are planned to be used over three phases of the campaign, running up to December 2016 including a group shot of 50 local professional employees in the Blackburn area. My brief was in-depth with several conference calls with the marketing team and the client to produce work that complimented the whole campaign. I received a great compliment when I was advised that an early inspiration for the project was my lifeblood project which can be seen here: www.Lifeblood.com.
